Ticketmaster, a California-based company, operates one of the largest online ticket sales platform in the world was recently hacked, customers data was stolen by the well-known hacking group ShinyHunters purportedly included names, addresses, emails, phone numbers and credit card information.
The group demanded a ransom payment of US$500,000, describing it as a "one-time sale".
Australia's government said that its cyber security office was "engaging" with United States-based Ticketmaster about the apparent hack. The FBI has offered assistance to Australian authorities after a hacking group claimed to have accessed the details of 560 million customers worldwide.
