Common IT Support Issues and Solutions
Most IT problems nowadays can be solved without going for IT help. Here are 8 common issues that IT support deals with and how you can solve them yourselves.
Unable to login
This can be easily fixed by checking if you didn't mistype any letters or digits and the caps lock is turned off. If it doesn't work then it's most likely that your password has expired or your account is locked due to many unsuccessful tries.
Deleted files by accident
Check the recycle bin to see if the file is still there else you'll have to take it to a technician to recover the files.
Closing document without saving
Microsoft has made it easier for us by adding a Recover Unsaved Document feature to solve this issue. From the Word document navigate to Files > Info > Manage Document > Recover Unsaved Documents.
Printer not working
When your printer isn't working there are three basic things that you need to check:
Printer switched on
If you're connected to the correct printer
Computer Shutting Down Randomly
The common cause for this is overheating. The fan can get clogged up with dust and overheat so make sure that you clean it out.
Blue Screen of Death (BSoD)
Most of the time, BSoD appears when there are hardware or driver issues. Install the latest Windows update and driver, and check if there are any hard disk errors.
Computer Running Slowly
A common solution is restarting your computer and if you have multiple programs or tabs open at once close them.
Having a slow computer can also be caused by viruses and malware. Use Windows Security or your anti-virus and anti-malware software to scan, detect and remove viruses from your computer.
In conclusion, there are many DIY quick-fix solutions that might just solve your issue without the need for IT support.
