Today I will be sharing on ways to prevent social engineering!
Do not open any suspicious links
I realize that many people tend to click into suspicious links receive via email, SMS or Whatsapp. If it is too good to be true, DO NOT under any circumstances click on the link.
Higher up requesting for access to system or processing of payment via email
It is best to verify the sender's identity. A phone call or face to face conversation would help. It won't take too much of your time.
Better to be safe than sorry.
Keep firmware and software up to date
This is something that many missed out on. You may think that update is not important but it keeps the security firmware up to date.
Check for updates regularly and keep it updated!
Multi Factor Authentication
Password is a way to secure login but with MFA which normally is OTP or security question format, it would aid better to secure your account.
Never under any circumstances give to anyone the OTP or security question and answer.
Never pass to anyone your login details
Regardless of who the person claims to be, they could have access of your personal / organization data within seconds once they have your login details.
